Child support and sole custody

Can a mother file for child support and sole custody for a child just becasue she's mad at the father but he takes care of the child.

Whatever reason causes a parent to file stuff in court really doesn't matter...both parents can always seek custody of their child and child support follows custody. Custody is based on the "best interests" of the child and a court would thoroughly look at each of the two parents' circumstances to judge who is best suited to be the custodial parent.

If you're taking care of the child, why don't you seek child support from the mother?
