Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Child Support

Is there a statute of limitations on delinquent child support payments? My divorce decree stated I was to receive $50 a wk and have never received a penny. My divorce occurred in 1978. I didn't have the funds to pursue this and did not know where my exhusband was. I know where I can locate him now and my children should have that money.

Re: Child Support

The statute of limitations is 20 years. I would contact the Illinois Department of Public Aid to see if they can help you with this matter. The website is http://www.dpaillinois.com/. They help people of all income levels.
