Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

child support termination

I am paying child support and arrearages. How can my ex-wife and I remove the case from the courts system? We have agreed to not have them involved. We are in Illinois.

Re: child support termination

The question is, "have you finished paying the arrearage? Until your child is 18, the case will always been in the court system although you may not have any court dates. If you're asking can you terminate current support based upon your child reaching age 18, that is a fairly simple process subject to some minor exceptions. Unfortunately, your question doesn't give enough information to provide a better answer. I suggest you contact a lawyer to go over the electronic court docket with you and provide a clear answer as to what you need to do.
