Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Child Support withholdings form employer

Is there a limit (%) of how much money can be withheld from someone's paycheck for child support & maintenance. For example: My ex owes me $8000.00

a month in child support but I am not sure of how much he actually makes. He is not very forthcoming with this information. He has a high paying job & I am thinking of going through the state since he never pays on time.

The limit is essentially 50% of a person's net income. It's sort of a convuluted formula that I don't have memorized but that's an estimate for discussion purposes. If he is employed and the problem isn't lack of payment but rather just late payments, why not just start getting the child support withheld? That's a one or two court appearance type thing. Then his employer is taking child support directly from him and he can't delay payments.
