Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
child welfare
I have been accused of abusing my
oldest daughter (15) The alleged
abuse occured in wilmette but i live
in chicago.A social worker from
skokie came to my house wanting to
speak to me and i was willing to
speak to her just not in the house
where my younger daughter (5)
was.She was angry and told me to
make an appointment to see her the
next day.She wants me to bring my
younger child so that she can talk to
her. We are in the same county
(cook) but she working from
suburban cook where as i live in cook
county proper.Does the social worker
have the authority to ask me to
bring a child not involved in the
allegations? And if i bring this child
are they likely to try to take her
away?

Re: child welfare
Hello. From your posting it is not clear whether this social worker is
connected with the Illinois Department
of Children and Family Services (DCFS). I suggests that you retain a
lawyer to contact this social worker.
I also suggests that you do not make any statements to this social worker until you have hired a lawyer. In my
opinion you should not take your youngest daughter to meet with this person, assuming she is a social worker. This is a situation where you
should be very cautious. Will be happy to discuss this further and in more detail.
