Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
I have two children by two different mothers. My 2 year olds mother filed her child support order before my 15 year old childs mother did. I have heard many different answers to this question, but how does the child support get split in Illinois? Do they split the 28% or is it one child gets the first 20% of my net pay then of the remainer of my pay check the other child gets another 20%. Also, who is entitled to that first 20%?? My oldest child or the child whose mother filed the child support order first? Please any thing to help me better answer these questions. Thank you

First in time, first in right. The oldest child's mother would be entitled to 20% of your net after-tax income. The mother of the 2yr old would get 20% of your net after-tax income after subtraction of the first 20%.
