Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

hi im cody,i previously lived in texas, but about six months ago my mother passed away and i had to go live with my father in illinois , because im only 16, i turn 17 in may, i want to move out of my fathers house and move back to texas, my unlce who lives down there wants to adopt me but i do not know where to begin or what the laws on this are, any info on this topic would really be appreciated

Hi. I don't think adoption is the right route. If your father is willing to consent to you living with your uncle, there may not be any issue. If your father is unwilling to agree, chances are you are probably stuck living with your father until you turn 18.
