Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

college expenses
My x husband called today and told me he refuses to pay for my daughters college. She has been accepted to a private college near home, and will remain living t home to keep the costs down to what a state school would cost. He wants her to go t junior college, and states he will not in any way ever pay for her to go to this college. I know our divorce decree states that we are both responsible based on our ability to pay. He makes around 90,000.00 and this issue hasnt come up until his new girlfriend recommended that she go to junior college. They are cohabitating, and have partial custody of her children. I obviously am going to have to take him to court, but can he tell her what college to go to?

I do not believe any judge will allow your ex to dictate which college your daughter can attend.
