Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

College Support / Job Loss

I am currently providing college support to my 2 kids - court ordered and pretty much unaffordable. Now with the sagging economy there is a good chance of being laid off or possibly losing my job permanently. My divorce decree indicates college support is to be provided if affordable. If I loose my job or get laid off there is no way I can afford my support - with the obligations I have (i.e. rent, insurance, food, etc...). What are my options - can I go back to court or am I responsible for payment even without employment. Can my ex get back pay for the time I am not working - just a reminder this is for 2 adult children in college - not child support.
