Common Law

Husband and wife live together in same home. But have not been physically together for over 7 years are they ligally seperated by common law?

You are still legally married. Illinois abolished "common law" marriages by statute in the early 1900s. You must file either for a legal separation, or a dissolution of marriage (divorce). Please call for an appointment.
