Conflicting legal information in re: to visitation

We have been getting conflicting information on child visitation. For 9 years my husband has had major difficulty in seeing his daughter, mom wants no contact just child support. 1 attorney tells us IL has no magical age of 13-14 where a child can refuse or make their own decisions not to visit. Another tells us if you choose to continue to fight for visitation you are fighting a losing battle she is old enough to decide for herself and Illinois courts will support her. Which on is it? Thank you in advance.

Your husband should file a petition

for scheduled visitation with his

daughter. Without an order in place,

nothing will happen. However, once

the court orders visitation, say

every other weekend, the court will

hold mom in contempt if she interferes.
