Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
I am in a contested divorce case. It has been pending for over a year. The case was set for trial, but now the judge who was hearing the case got reassigned. Why do judges get reassigned?

In Cook county judges get reassigned for various reasons - Judge Kennedy was given a more prestigious position in chancery - other judges get reassigned to Law - which is also considered a promotion - I do not remember a judge getting demoted out of the division in the past 10 or 20 years
