Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

credit card bills during divorce

My husband is threatening me with not paying the credit card bills while we are arguing over divorce. What's going to happen.

When you say arguing over divorce, what do you mean? If you are currently in a divorce, your attorney can get the court to order the payment of such bills. Issues like this need to be addressed early on, before creditors make problems worse. I have represented women who do not control the marital income (like you) and have made sure the court forces the other spouse to continue paying such bills, and anything else that is necessary for the "standard of living the parties are used to". Email me if you have more questions.

If someone paid does not pay the bill, there will be problems (late fees etc) You need to get some kind of a court order.
