Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
custodial parents lawyer has filed petition to increase child support, however, they do not even know where I work or how much I currently make, I received Notice of Hearing via regular mail, notice is demanding I bring tax returns for last 3 years, our minor child is only 17 months old...questions; must I even appear? must I bring tax info for years prior to childs birth? and can I be forced to pay custodial parents legal fees for filing this petition?..I am living pay check to pay check and lost my last job due to custodial parents constant motion filing caused absences...thank you

You know very well that you need to appear and to brig your tax returns. If you don't appear, the court will set support at whatever the State is requesting. The age of the child is irrelevant. Since you have already appeared in court, regular mail service is usually sufficient. If you do appear you can explain to the Judge that you barely have enough money to live on yourself. If your ex is being represented by Child Support Enforcement, there should be no or minimal fees.
