custodial parents rights questioned
the grandparents want legal guardianship of their 5yr old grandson. the custodial parent agrees because the 5yr old live with his grandparents. now it has been sugested the grandparents have gardianship of the 2yr and 3yr grandsons living with the custodial parent. what happens to the custodial parents rights if grandparents are awarded gaurdianship? is it possible to make the grandparents guardians providing a death or other may occur?

Hello. In the event a Court approves the grand-
parents as legal guardians of their grand-children, the parent still has parental rights, but loses authority to make day to day decisions
concerning the children. I would suggests that both sides consider this arrangement carefully and concentrate on what is in the best interest of the children. It is quite possible that when this matter goes to Court, a Judge will appoint an attorney for the children (guardian ad litem).
