Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Custody of my granddaughter

I've had my granddaughter living with me for 8 months now along with my son who is her father. One day out of the blue her biological mother came by to pick her up and when she brought her back she saw my sons girlfriend sitting on the couch so she decided she didn't want to leave her at our house anymore. My son is only 17 and she is 16 years old. She hasn't visited with the baby any other time before. I have always tried to get her to visit with her and she hasn't wanted to. She does not go to school and she lives with her aunt, her mother does not have a stable home and her and I have had an ok relationship (my grandbaby's other grandma) but now she is even being cruel to my son and me and they don't even want to let us see the baby. I have provided everything the baby has needed financially. Do you think I have a good case of winning custody of my granddaughter or should I just try for visitation? I don't feel that my granddaughter is in a stable home environment. I have lived in my home for 6 years now, and they have moved 4 times that I know of in that time, I just do not think that is stable.
