Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

custody overseas

My husband is form the Czech Republic and has a son still there. The by's mother is refusing to let him come over to see his dad. Is there any thing we can do? They have joint custody. What would happen if we just went and got him without the mothers permission? Thank you.

Re: custody overseas

To begin with drop any thought of going over there to take the child. Doing so would open you up to US and no doubt Czech criminal charges.

Since this matter relates to an international custody dispute it is in your best interest to find an attorney/law firm which has experience in handling this type of issue.

If you email me privately I can give you the name and number of a well known attorney in IL who you could speak to regarding your issue.
