Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

When a dad drives kids home from visitation drunk with three children (17,14,11), and mom gets a phone call to dial 911 and the police cannot locate the dad (because he drives through 4 jurisdictions), should the mom pick up the children? I have been told I am an "enabler" when I feel my children are endangered and I reluctantly pick them up. My ex commonly drank vodka/splash orange juice cocktails that had four shots and he usually has more than two a night. He is driving me out of my mind over this issue and scaring my children on a continual basis. Please advise.

If an intoxicated individual is driving with your children in the car, then yes, you need to pick up the children. I am not sure what the individual's choice of alcoholic beverage has to do with this decision.
