Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Daughter allergic to Father's Cats

My ex and I have been divorced for over five years and have not had any problems--until now. Our daughter (9) is severley allergic to cats. He recently purchased two ''hypoallergenic'' cats of which she is highly allergic. He took her to the M.D. when a rash broke out on her body, but is still in denial. He simply refuses to get rid of these very pricey cats. We have joint custody, although she only visits him every other weekend. Until the cats are gone, I feel that it is my reponsibilty to not allow her in harm's way. What kind of legal rights do I have to keep her home?

Re: Daughter allergic to Father's Cats

You must go through the courts and get an order to the effect that he cannot have visitation until he gets rid of the cats. It can even be done on an emergency basis which means in a couple of days.
