Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
My daughter took the computer I bought her when she went to visit her mother recently. I have used the computer at times when my own was broken but it is rare. My ex-wife decided to root through it to see if she could find anything and came across 2 pictures of mem one nude and one in a bair of underwear. She took it to her lawyer and then tried to put some ridiculous spin on the entire situation. My question is two parts: What legal ramifications (if any) can this have toward me? What rights do I have to privacy of my own computer? Obviously I won't be letting the kids take theme back over there for the simple fact that she makes me feel like all she is doing it trying to hurt me through them. My son is 12 so you can imagine what a 12 yo will google and I fear she will somehow take it to her lawyer and present that to try and hurt me again. Help?

First what is the "ridiculous spin"? While you are honest enough to explain what happened, the key here is what does she want out of this mess? Plus, you contradicted yourself -- you say you bought the computer for her (meaning it was an outright gift) and then say taht it is your "own computer". It's not yours. You exposed yourself to the problem, so to speak, so now you have to find out what the consequences might be.
