Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Daughter's Divorce

My daughter's husband of one year is filing for divorce. She is being treated for anxiety and depression after a collapse/hospitalization at hearing he was leaving her. Can he rush through this divorce or will the courts have to take into consideration her treatment? She needs to remain on his health insurance plan for a while.

Re: Daughter's Divorce

Your goals can be accomplished...keeping her on health insurance and slowing down the case. I need more information but first thing that stands out is his "reason" for getting a divorce. We do have what's called "no fault" divorce but for that to happen the parties must be separated for two years. There are other grounds/reasons for seeking divorce but I'd need to hear more about the facts of your case. Delaying a divorce for 1-2 years is rather easily accomplished if that is the only goal.
