Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
My daughter's mom and I both moved to IL about 2 years ago from WI. My daughter's mom has pretty much given our 5 yr old daughter to me, having only seen her about 10 days since August. The original order from WI (May 2012) states 50/50 placement and I'm looking to get it changed to primary placement with me. There is a stipulation in the current order that her not sending her to the private school stated in the order would be considered an extreme change in circumstance so no need to wait for the 2 yr rule. I know in order to get the case started down here I need to fill out a petition for registration of a foreign judgment. I have looked all over and haven't found a form for this on the internet. I also don't know where she resides but can send her things through a website, which the order says is to be our only form of communication. I have absolutely NO MONEY to hire an attorney and make too much to qualify for free legal aid services.

If you make too much for legal aid, you possibly could afford an attorney. But that is not the issue. The case is in Wisconsin. Go back to that court for your request. If she still lives in WI, it still has jurisdiction.
