Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

i am 19 and my friend will be 18 in 46 days her mom kicked her out in the state of illinois so she came to stay with me in new york her mom is illegal and her dad gave up all parental rights but her illegal mom reported her missing so i had to take her to the station and now dcfs has her and wants to send her back to illinois and the thing is she will be in this same situation in 86 days so is there any way that i can get her back?

Assuming your information about Mom is correct, you could always threaten to inform on Mom to the INS or better you could just wait until your girlfriend is 18 and then have her come back to New Your to live with you. Also, you may both want to try and talk to the New York agency that currently has her and see if she can stay in New York where you can visit her until she is 18. Under Illinois law, she can leave home at 17 (self-emancipate) but she can't be locked out until she is 18 (neglect). I don't see the problem given the short period of time until she is 18.
