Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Deadbeat Enforcement?

I have been to court on my own at least 14 times in the last 12 months for a deadbeat that will not pay his child support. The last time I was in court the judge told me that me ''Rule to Show Cause'' was entered only 2 days after the child support order was entered. I am trying to have his drivers license suspended. The Illinois Division of Child support will not take action on him until he is 90 days delinquent. He makes 1 token payment before each court date and nothing ever seems to happen in court. Any advise on how to get his drivers license suspended?

Re: Deadbeat Enforcement?

If a rule to show cause was issued, ask for a hearing to hold your ex in contempt. If you win the hearing, then ask the judge to jail your ex until he pays up.
