What is the difference between ordinary medical expenses and extraordinary medical expenses.

It depends on the facts. Logically regular checkups are ordinary - doctor's appointment for sickness would be extraordinary. Dental cleanings and cavities would be ordinary, but braces would be extraordinary. But if your kid has special needs things change. The terms should have been defined in your judgment. Some now define it in financial terms. Each item has to be examined in context.
