Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
''Discovery'' for divorce
How important is the accuracy of this? I am doing my best to complete this form but it is so detailed and I know that I don't have receipts for every transaction that I have made in the past year.
This questionaire is overwhelming. I have tried to save my receipts and some had become exposed to heat becoming carbon like and unlegible.
The children and I have been residing w/ family; having to leave the home situation. Since my money is tied up in the home until the end of the divorce, we have been unable to get a place. So, I obviously have no home or home related bills. Will this be detremential as that I cannot show mortage/rent costs at this time?

Re: ''Discovery'' for divorce
its important to be accurate since you are swearing to it. The best way to prepare discovery is to fill it out the best you can, and have your attorney review the answers for accuracy and so on. Sometimes it is ok to put that you simply do not know.
