Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
Divorce advice, dire situation
My wife and mother of our two children has embarked on a nearly year-long affair with a married doctor she met through her work.
She confirmed to me that they have had an affair and subsequently I have discovered four ''Hallmark-moment'' notes she wrote to him. Since they met at work & subsequently 'consumated' their relationship at his office, on work retreats and most recently at an out-of-state seminar, what rights do I have to suing for ''alienation of affection?'' Additionally, how can I minimalize my lo$$e$ when I file for divorce??

Alienation of affection is an older claim that is not used often (successfully) anymore. I suggest you focus on getting a divorce, keep as much of your assets as is equitable, and move on. If you want to begin the process of moving on, our firm handles divorces throughout Chicago.
