want to take a Divorce?
I am a battered immigrant. I am in a controlling relationship with my husband and in laws. He was not allowing me to work or study and isolated me from my family and friends. I am now in major depression.
I want to take Divorce from Him. we dont have nay children.
1. On What basis can I take the Divorce?
2. How much maintenance would I be getting as I married him and came to US for him
3. How would it effect the divorce if I apply or he applies?
4.where do I have to apply the divorce?
5. I have my stuff with him, can I walk in and get the stuff?

You can file a divorce in the county you live in, as long as you've lived there 90 days or more. When you file you must petition the court for an emergency order of protection. Once granted, the judge will give you an order directing the police to go home with you to get your belongings. Please call for a free consultation.
