Re: Divorce

Even if I could explain the entire process to you, do you really think that going up against an attorney that fights over these issues for a living makes sense. Its one thing to ask for advice on LawGuru, but quite another to think you can represent yourself in a nasty divorce case when your spouse is represented. Ouch.

BTW, I suggest you get an attorney that focuses on family law (whether its my firm or another similar firm), and do not try to "state your case" as you call it. It will cost you a lot less to do it right now, then pay an attorney to fix it later.

Re: Divorce

This is a fine example of what is wrong about people representing themselves in Court. You do not know what to do. Rather than hire an attorney you choose to do it yourself and the result will undoubtedly be that you will be unhappy with whatever happens. In all likelihood you will blame the other attorney, the judge or the legal system. If you needed an appendectomy would you do it yourself but post questions to a doctor's website? If you have any sense at all you will hire an attorney.
