Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I am going through a divorce and it is the very earl y stages and I noticed that my husband changed the beneficiary on his life insurance from me to all 3 of our children who are not yet 18. If something should happen to him will they need to be 18 in order to get the insurance money?

Yes, but as their surviving parent you will be the Trustee allowing you to determine how the funds are to be spent. Should anything happen, the insurance company will explain to you how the funds have to be handled.
