If I want a divorce and I file. Who usually comes out
better? The one who files or the other one. He has a drug issues (the reason) We have grown children together. He works and I don't. Can I get maintence
if I stayed home with the kids?

You need to hire a lawyer to represent you. It makes no difference who files first. The question of maintenance has to many variables to answer in this forum. The drug issue is probably irrelevant since your children are grown except to the possible protection of marital assets from dissipation.
