Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Divorce

I filed for divorce and served my wife papers. I typed up all of the paper work and filed with the county. She never responded to the served papers and never went to court. I have been to 3 court hearings only to get continuances. What do I do from here? I had a lawyer but I did all the things he was supposed to do. I figured I can represent myself. I was married in Oct.2008 and filed in Feb 2009. We have no children or anything. I filed as irreconcilable differences. How do I make my divorce finalized?

Re: Divorce

If you truly were doing all the things that your lawyer was supposed to do, then you would likely be divorced now. I have no idea without seeing your case what you have not done properly.
