Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
I got a divorce in Indiana and now I live in Illinois does it affect my child support case

It depends . . . did you leave Indiana with the permission of the court that handled your divorce and set your child support? How long have you been in Illinois? Does your ex know where you and the children are? Are you receiving public aid?
Depending on where in Indiana your child support order was entered, you may want to ask the Indiana court (yes, you have to go there first) to transfer the case to Illinois. This assumes that it is not convenient for you to leave the case in Indiana. If it doesn't make a lot of difference, you should leave it alone. If it does, then transfer the case to Illinois and go from there. If your ex did not agree that you could bring the children into Illinois, you should either get his consent in an Agreed Order or you should file a Petition to Remove the minor children with the Indiana Court.
