my in laws are at the begining of a divorce. my mother in law has a bird (large parrot) and 2 days after reciving the divorce papers my father in law ''sold'' the parrot to their daughter, and she said (shes studing to be a lawyer) that we would have to call the police to get him back. and i thought that he could not sell her property, weather or not is was aquired while married or not. what can we do to get her bird back. i am worried for his health. brids will start to pluck feathers, stop eating and so forth they are very sensetive. what should i do.

Just because someone is studying to be a lawyer doesn't mean they know anything about the law. Actually, she is quite stupid for getting in the middle of this. Have your mother-in-law inform her lawyer about this, and he'll go to court to get a court order remedying the situation.
