Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Divorce and Maintenance

I am attempting to get divorced from a woman who had a baby with another man while we were married and living together. I have a copy of the denial of paternity on my part. She wants maintenance payments from me. Should I be responsible in the state of Illinois for maintenance when she has had this other man living with her and they have a child together?

Re: Divorce and Maintenance

In my opinion you do not owe your wife maintenance. You should fight this. Also, you should let the divorce judge know that you are not this child's father. If you do not have a lawyer, get one. You want to be able to protect your rights. Will

be happy to discuss this further and in more detail.
