Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I have been married for 7 years to a very angry abusive man and it seems that we can' work it out. I would like to go for counseling but he absolutly refuses to. We own 2 homes together and I still own the house that my exhusband and I owned together. We desided to keep it that way as we have 4 children and that is where we wanted it to go to later. We all agreed on this and now my husband says that he paid 2-1/2 yrs payments and he feels that he is entitled to that, mind you he lived here and I paid everything else including food/ect. for all this time.We have agreed to sell the other 2 homes but is he entitled to this one? also he has went out and opened a checking acct. to have our tax return dep into as he thinks I was stealing it and all it was is going into the same acct. that it did last year. I have been mentally and physically abused by this man for most of our married time but not lately physically,but I'm sure my physician is aware of this. Do I hav e any rights to report this now or is it too late? I've hope this would never end like this but I don't even think he cares.
