Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

divorce

divorce papers state that the father must provide the medical & dental coverage for a minor child. If the father decides on his own to discontinue that coverage, does the mother have to pay an attorney to have that enforced or is there an avenue she can take that won't cost her?

Re: divorce

Unfortunately you have to take your ex to court on this one if a written demand fails. Next time be sure that a Qualified Medical Child Support Order gets entered, this will help protect the coverage. The court may award you contribution for your fees and costs required to bring the petition from your ex.

Hope this helps.
