Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
hello
In my divorce papers it states any medical bill over $50.00 i am responsible for my question is does medical include dental or orthodontic bills?

If the divorce judgment does not address dental or ortho care specifically in addition to medical bills, arguably "medical" care may not include this care. In many cases these expenses are split 50-50 between the parties, but your mileage may vary. If you are talking about substantial bills (and ortho can be substantial) then it may be worth debating the issue or taking it before the Court. If there was a good reason for you to pay for every medical expense over $50, and you did not mention how medical/dental insurance was arranged in your case, then perhaps the Court would find that this makes sense as well for dental and ortho care. These expenses are paid in addition to child support in Illinois (medical, dental, orthodontic, and optical). So, unfortunately no quick and easy answer. From your position, I would take the stance that the $50 limit applies only to medical expenses, not dental or orthodontic, assuming your divorce decree makes no mention of dental or orthodontic expenses.
