Divorce

If the partys live in seperate states is is ok for one to get the divorce in there state and just send the papers to the other state? Does the laywer have to practice in both states?

Hello. Either party can file for divorce, but the party out of state should get a lawyer from the state where the divorce is filed to protect their rights. I would not recommend letting a lawyer represent both parties. This can cause problems, especially if one issue cannot be resolved! Then what? Will be happy to discuss this further and in more detail.
