Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

If the divorce it says to pay health insurance. My son has a small space between his front top teeth, otherwise his teeth are perfectly straight. Do I have to pay for half of the braces for cosmetic reasons?

Carrying health insurance is simply one of many obligations your divorce decree probably has imposed on you. Anyhow, this is dental, and you don't say you are required to carry dental. If not, then the decree should state what voice you have in things like cosmetic dentistry, if in fact it is cosmetic and not orthodontic. But you may want to carry dental too if it's an option, because if the decree says you pay for whatever is in the best interests of the kids, you might as well have insurance to help. Take the decree to an attorney for a complete review of this situation.
