Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Divorce Questions

Is there a way to force my husband to keep insurance on my kids from a previous marriage ? That is always his threat to me and now I want a divorce . ( The insurance does not cost him a thing )

I quit working after having our baby I had to undergo a tubal reversal because he wanted kids so badly. We agreed that we would not have them in day care at all ,now we are seperating and he is threatening to drop me and my kids from a prior marriage can I force him to keep them insured ?

And we purchaseda house a 2 1/2 yrs ago to find out it was sinking the builder had to pay for the house to have helical peirs but now it is sinking again and the builder filed bankruptcy . The appraiser said the house house has no true value to the extent our taxes went from 6400.00 to 170.00 annually.

In the divorce I will never be able to get a bank to finance me so I can buy him out .

I really don't think he will leave his name on th e mortgage so what do I do there ?

Thanks

P.S. I have 6 kids at home 2 are from this marriage 4 are from my previous marriage I only work part time weekends ( because of the babies) The kids are 17yrs ,15yrs , 14 yrs, 12yrs, 2 yrs & 8 months

Re: Divorce Questions

Your husband will not be forced to pay for insurance for children that are not his. It sounds like you have some issues, including how to deal with the home. Given your children and other issues, you need an attorney. Given that your husband is the breadwinner, IL law allows for you to make him pay for your attorney's fees so there is no reason not to retain an attorney.
