Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
divorce/child support
My husband has an attoney and I am representing myself due to finacial inability. He has submitted a discovery form with all 2006 info, none of 2007. He is a real estate agent and I know for certain he has sold his first property in April of 07. What can I ask for of the court to make him submitt all updated finacial information?
I asked for a continuance to retain an attorney, but was unable to do so after I realized his not giving accurate information. At this point do I turn in my discovery to the court, and contact his attorney to hear their settlement agreement; Or do I just turn in my discovery and wait to go to court?
Also can I ask that he submitts all updated financial information to the court every month/year after the support is in place?
Since his income will fluctuate, my intention was to ask for a set amount or the percentage of child support according to IL state laws, which ever is greater. Is this something I can do?
I deeply appreciate any legal advice you can give to me. I am having to do my own representation because I dont receive any child support from my husband, and simply cannot afford to do so.
Thank You in advance for all you help.

Re: divorce/child support
OK.
First, you can afford an attorney. In illinois, spouses who do not have access to marital funds can get a court order forcing the other spouse to pay for your legal fees. In other words, our firm can represent you and you do not have to come up with a retainer. We take care of getting the funds for you. Think about it, do you beleive that the state of Illinois has divorce laws set up so that anytime a wife does not have access to marital funds, she is stuck in a situation without an attorney? Of course not. If you contact our firm, we can start representing you without any upfront fee.
By the way, the other issues you raised are resolved or allieviated when you have an attorney, so I will cover those issues with you if you decide to contact us.
Feel free to contact me at my email to discuss further.
Good luck!
