Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
My ex and I divorced in Texas, Since our divorce she has moved to Washington and now to Illinois. We are both remarried to different spouses and I now live in Tennessee. Child support is being handled through the state of Illinois. Will I be responsible for both child support and college? Our divorce decree doesn't have any provisions for college or statement about college expenses being reserved for a later date.

Since your divorce decree doesn't say anything specific about college, your ex-wife can file for contribution to your son's college expenses at anytime.

Respectfully, As the divorce decree was entered in Texas, Texas law governs and you are not responsible for college as Texas does not provide for college.
