Divorce/Marriage

My husband and I married in 1984. His 1st wife told him she had filed and gotten a divorce from him. She then remarried. Now she divorced husb.#2 and is claiming that she never divorced MY husband. Is our marriage even legal? Who is his wife? She had him 2 yrs, I've had him 25. What is my status?

You need to have your husband see a family law attorney about this to get this sorted out.

If your husband was already married, then your marriage is not valid. However, if he believed that his first marriage had ended (and there was some error), then you two can remarry and the courts will treat the original date as the date of marriage since there was no intent to defraud.
