Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I am in a divorce....vehicle with both spouse and my name is in need of repair (mechanical failure)....I asked spouse to split cost of repair....spouse declined saying no money.....so I towed to home....insurance company issued me a reimbursement check for the tow (money which I borrowed and need to repay)....check had both our names on due to both of our names on policy....I gave check to spouse asked to sign so I can cash and now three days later has not given check back with signature so i can cash (I did not sign check) and has not share intentions. anything I can do? I need to repay friend that gave me money for tow initially and planned to do so with the reimbursement check from the insurance company, which now my spouse is keeping from me.

1) talk to your divorce lawyer, if you have one

2) if you only wanted spouse to endorse check, you shouldn;'t have let him.her take the check.

3) call the insurance company and get themn to stop payment on the check

4) if you do not have an atty, file a motion in divorce court asking the judge to order spouse to endorse check
