Divorcing a Doctor

I put my husband through college, medical school, and residency, and then he left me. The 4 lawyers I have seen say that because I can support myself, I am not entitled to any alimony/settlement. Say what?!! Please help me find case information where someone has received compensation for supporting their spouse through the attainment of a professional degree. Thanks!

Hello. In my opinion I think you have a case for a portion of the value of your husband's medical practice. There is case law out there on this topic, but it is going to depend upon the facts of your individual case. Will be happy to discuss this further and in more detail.
