Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
dna
I left my marriage after 4 years, when I was literally walking out the door my wife yelled ''i am pregnant''. i moved to miami to my moms. she knew where i was. i saw her twice in about 6 months and she never mentioned it again and never showed being pregnant. after 15 months i finally filed. she got her papers on friday and wednesday showed up in miami with a 10 month old baby girl. i told her what if i filed when would you have told me. she was silent. no we go to court for child support and i thought for sure the judge would make us take a DNA. they said i would have to pay child support and for the dna testing. after that many months away, how could a judge taker her side?

Re: dna
You are looking at 18 years of child support for a child that may not be yours. Since you are married to the child's mother, the law prsumes that child to be yours. It is your responsibility to bring the proper court pleadings to obtain the testing. This cannot be done on the "cheap". Get an attorney right away. JMC
