Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

domestic violence charge

Our child called 911 after a physical altercation between he and his father. Father is in custody and appears before a judge tomorrow.

Father thinks we can drop the charges against him, but we never filed any charges in the first place.

What can we expect as far as bail, release, etc?

Re: domestic violence charge

If the father physically abused the child, he should be charged. He should have to do counseling and should be watched.

If this question is posed by a woman who is making excuses for domestic violence, and has not come to the realization that abusers don't stop, then my post is pointless. Eventually you will (hopefully before someone is killed) learn.
