Eviction

How long does it usually take to file a petition for eviction before removal is required. Where do i go to file?

At least 2 weeks, sometimes up to several months to remove tenants.

You need to serve the tenants with notice first (5 day, 10 day or 30 day). Then file an eviction complaint in the county courthouse

Evictions in Cook county are done in either the Daley center or one the suburban locations. Length depends on how and if the tenant/squatter fights back.
