Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
Ex-Wife Child Support
She is with her lawyer right now, and she is
coming for more child support. Her lawyer
said I need to fax him my 2007 W-2 and my
4 paystubs from this year. I thought they
could only look at my last W-2. Is this right?

Re: Ex-Wife Child Support
No. Frankly if your wife's lawyer wanted to he or she could do extensive review of your finances. Practically if your income is consistent it likely doesn't matter how many W-2s you provide. If your income varies sometimes a court will average income. I'd be careful what I voluntarily disclose...in other words don't give him that last paystub where you worked a ton of overtime.

I would not comply with anything other than a court order, as a matter of habit in your situation. That being said, if you make the same money it will not matter
